PIKES PEAK REGIONAL BUILDING ISSUES RECORD-BREAKING NUMBER OF PERMITS FOR SINGLE FAMILY HOMES IN COLORADO SPRINGS

PIKES PEAK REGIONAL BUILDING DEPARTMENT ISSUED 564 NEW SINGLE-FAMILY HOME BUILDING PERMITS THIS PAST SEPTEMBER, THE MOST IN A SINGLE MONTH SINCE AUGUST OF 2015. THIS SINGLE-MONTH MARK IS A 44 PERCENT INCREASE FROM SEPTEMBER OF LAST YEAR.

OVERALL, SINGLE-HOME PERMITS ARE UP 20 PERCENT YEAR-TO-DATE.

A TOTAL OF 3,641 SINGLE FAMILY HOME PERMITS HAVE BEEN ISSUED THIS YEAR. EVEN WITH RECORD-BREAKING NUMBERS, THERE IS STILL A LOT OF NEW CONSTRUCTION NEEDED TO CATCH UP WITH THE DEMAND AND LACK OF INVENTORY FOR BUYERS.

MOST NEW HOMES APPROVED FOR BUILDING IN SEPTEMBER WILL HIT THE MARKET FIRST QUARTER OF 2021.
